Mycotoxins test kits

The AuroFlow® AQ Mycotoxin Platform supports testing for six mycotoxins in grain commodities.

Deoxynivalenol (DON)

Deoxynivalenol is caused by fungal infection by certain strains of Fusarium that can cause acute temporary nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, and fever.

  • Commodities: corn and wheat
  • Quantitative results in 4 minutes
  • Detection range: 0-30 ppm, with a dilution procedure for samples greater than 6 ppm

Fumonisin

Fumonisin (B1, B2, and B3) is caused by fungal infection by certain strains of Fusarium. Fumonisins are linked with several health issues like cancer of the esophagus and have toxic effects on the liver.

  • Commodity: corn
  • Quantitative results in 6 minutes
  • Detection range: 0-30 ppm

Ochratoxin A

Ochratoxin is caused by fungal infection by certain strains of Aspergillus ochraceus and Penicillium verrucosum. Consumption of ochratoxin contaminated food or feed can lead to acute kidney toxicity, hepatotoxicity, and teratogenic effects.

  • Commodity: wheat
  • Quantitative results in 5 minutes
  • Detection range: 2-100 ppb

T-2/HT-2

Trichothecenes inhibit protein synthesis and cell proliferation in plants, and cause acute or chronic intoxication of humans and animals such as growth retardation, myelotoxicity, hematotoxicity, and necrotic lesions.

  • Commodities: corn and wheat
  • Quantitative results in 5 minutes
  • Detection range: 50-500 ppb

Zearalenone

Zearalenone caused by fungal infection by certain Fusarium and Gibberella species. Consumption of Zearalenone-contaminated food or feed can lead to reproductive harm and reduced milk and egg production.

  • Commodities: corn and wheat
  • Quantitative results in 5 minutes
  • Detection range: 25-1000 ppb
